“Yazd” is inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage List!




The historical city, Yazd, as the first city of Iran and 22nd historical site of country is declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, passing 9 years after gaining momentum on the UNESCO temporary heritage list. Yazd city inscribe in this list after meeting of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee as one of the earliest cities made with bricks.


However before this meeting, Mohammad Hassan Talebian, Deputy cultural director of the Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization was worry about the bugs that UNESCO has taken from some buildings in Yazd. Probabilities that UNESCO had brought for refusing this case refered to previous years and non-normative constructions which was a serious dilemma for Yazd and this city needed integrated management, massive urban planning, Observance of the principles of hygiene, reconsider in Engineering System Criteria and construction.
